Milwaukee Bars & Restaurants: Eat and Drink Like a Local

Favorite Milwaukee Restaurants

Triskele’s

Check out this little corner bistro for a variety of fare options. They offer a changing menu but you can get anything from Wild Mushroom Pot Pie to Prince Edward Island Mussels and Beef Short Ribs to Pork Tostadas. This unassuming neighborhood restaurant is great for a comfortable atmosphere and food that is sure to capture your attention. Be sure to check out their Facebook page for an updated menu as it’s constantly changing to offer you new dishes throughout the week. The staff is friendly and the service is amazing! Make this a stop while in Milwaukee.

Definitely a great date spot! Looking for other date ideas? Read our full blog on some of Milwaukee’s most creative date ideas.

Brick 3 Pizza

Brick 3 Pizza is fast, inexpensive, and delicious. What more could you possibly want from a pizza joint? The pizza selections are always fresh and creative and the service is always efficient and kind. When we say creative selections we truly mean creative selections. You’ve probably never tried a Mac and Cheese slice until Brick 3 Pizza. Brick 3 is also open until 3 am on Friday and Saturday nights to help you wind down from a night on the town.

We recommend heading here after a night out on the town – the pizza is cheap, and will help set you up for success to fight the next days hangover.

Points East Pub

The wings will speak for themselves if you’ve ever had them – but we’ll do our best. You don’t get a choice of wings – you just pick 6, 12, or 18 and they bring them out with celery and ranch or bleu cheese. The wings are already hand-sauced, grilled, deep fried, and then grilled again. They’re never too greasy or spicy, and always crispy and delicious. Points East Pub also serves up some amazing garlic french fries and jalapeno poppers that are a must try! With all of this great bar food, you would expect an expansive bar selection to go with. Well, you’re in luck! They have a great tap beer selection to help wash down your wings. What better combo than beer and wings?

Date night or after-work bites – we just recommend eating here for any reason you can come up with.

Oscar’s Pub and Grill

Oscar’s Pub and Grill is the real deal with some of Milwaukee’s best burgers. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is amazing! Oscar’s has great food, good ambiance, and it’s great for everyone – the bar vibe at the front is great for anyone without kids, and the quieter room in the back is ideal for families with children. The Big O is a must-try when you visit.

Date night, family dinners, work meetings – we recommend Oscar’s for anything where you need some great food.

Real Chili

Real Chili is a divey, hungry after a night of drinking type place, and it’s just what you need after a night on the town. Personally, we like the Marquette Chili which features spaghetti, beans, hot chili and cheese with sour cream, onions, and jalapenos on the side. So whether you’re out for a quick lunch or fiending for some late-night drunk food – make a stop at Real Chili for a unique chili meal!

We recommend Real Chili as more of a drunk spot – but if you’re out and about for lunch, give it a go.

Favorite Milwaukee Bars & Breweries

Boone & Crockett

Boone & Crockett is a Milwaukee favorite and they recently moved into the Cooperage Building in Walkers Point – which is also home to Milwaukee Pedal and Paddle Tavern. Boone & Crockett serves up some amazing specialty cocktails and you can snag a specialty cocktail for just $5 between 5 and 7. Have we mentioned that they also have a taco truck (Taco Moto) that hangs around outside serving up amazing tacos while you sip your cocktails? Swing on by before or after your Pedal or Paddle Tavern tours and enjoy some of Milwaukee’s best cocktails.

Date night, night out with the girls – any time is a great time to get down to Boone & Crockett!

Drink Wisconsinbly

Drink Wisconsinbly is a must-stop if you want to fully experience the Wisconsin culture. A wide selection of locally brewed beers on tap, the best cheese curds in Milwaukee, and brats make Drink Wisconsinbly one of our favorite bars in Milwaukee. Not to mention, the location can’t be beaten! Drink Wisconsinbly is located right between Walker’s Point, Historic Third Ward, and the Milwaukee River. They also make some pretty sweet t-shirts for you to take home with you.

We recommend this bar to anyone visiting Milwaukee, or anyone looking for some of the best cheese curds you will ever have.

Steny’s

Steny’s Tavern & Grill is a Milwaukee staple – they also offer a full-service shuttle bus to Milwaukee area events, including Miller Park, BMO Bradley Center, Summerfest grounds, and more! Enjoy some classic pub grub, a game room, and TVs at this classic sports bar – if you’re a fan of Wisconsin sports – there’s a good chance you can catch the game here. A long bar, TVs everywhere, endless free popcorn, tons of people of all walks of life, shuttles to every sports event, and an overall upbeat atmosphere make Steny’s a classic neighborhood sports bar that you need to check out.

Date night (if your date likes Wisconsin sports), guys night out, and after work drinks are all good times to make Steny’s the stop.

Central Standard

Central Standard is one of Milwaukee’s distilleries and our personal favorite! Cherry Vodka, Chocolate flavored Brandy, Coffee Vodka, Rye Whiskey, Scotch Style Whiskey, Gin, Bourbon Whiskey, Rye Vodka, and Washington Rye are what they’re whipping up, and we recommend each and every one of them. Join us on a tour and we’ll take a stop here! Then, you can come back later for a tour of the distillery – something we definitely recommend if you can make the time for it!

Date night, girls night, guys night, any reason is a good reason to head to Central Standard!

Mob Craft Tap Room

Mob Craft whips up crowd-sourced beers. Here’s how it works: you submit the idea you have for a beer, it goes up for a vote from the public, the one with the most pre-orders gets made, and then you can try the beer that you schemed up (if you’re one of the luck winners)! Lucky for us – the Mob Craft taproom serves up their crowdsourced beers, their flagship beers, and a variety of taproom only beers! The taproom boasts views of the brewhouse, the wild & sour room as well as foosball, ping pong, live music, outdoor seating and much more!

No matter the occasion, Mob Craft is a popular favorite for everyone!

As you can see, Milwaukee has some amazing restaurants, bars, and breweries. Next time you’re in town – be sure to check one of them out. If you join us for a Pedal Tavern tour, it’s likely we’ll make a stop at one of the bars or breweries listed!
